In an attempt to simplify the required office needs below we have a home office equipment list. This list should put you on the right path to gathering everything you will need for your home office. While we will cover the basics like having a computer and a phone line, we will also attempt to include those things that are often forgotten. Some of these items, that may be hard to find online, can be found at our online shopping links at Majestic and More.

While this is the suggested list for your home office needs, this home office equipment list may not be exhaustive, as office needs and items are often changing with time and technology. Therefore we will try to keep our equipment list current, however, if there are items you feel we are missing feel free to send us an email and we will be happy to consider it for updating our list.

The basic home computer has more than enough memory and power to get you started, especially if your computer is no older than 3 years old. If you would like to purchase a new computer you should be able to get one relatively cheap if you're on a budget. Majestic and More

Dual monitors are preferred: some program may require having multiple windows. If you already have a computer picking up a second monitor should not break the bank.

Of course, having a computer is at the top of our home office equipment list because you can-not work without it. Check out our specs page to know what you will need in a computer. Or reach out to our Tech Support Specialist. 

You will need high-speed internet connection to work from home for all of the opportunities that the Majestic Group offers. There are many providers available in most areas, and many will also provide the modem (lease or rent), if you need it.  You may also opt to purchase your own modem that will provide you the best bang for your buck.

You will not need blazing fast internet, but you will need a minimum 10 megabytes per second (mbps) download and minimum 3 mbps upload capability.  If you are able to secure higher numbers and find it is in your budget, please do so.

Some programs will require you to have a dedicated phone. You can easily find a phone for under $30 without all of the bells and whistles. You will want to make sure that the phone is corded, not cordless for security purposes.

Most internet and cable providers can add a line to your plan for a few extra dollars a month. Services like Ooma and Magic Jack will not work.

It is always good and simply much more convenient to have a headset, verses a regular handset, having to raise, lower and hold a phone handset for hours in a day? Some programs actually require a headset instead of a phone line. That headset would plug directly into your computer.

If you already have a good headset you're in business. Before you go out and buy a headset check with your program requirements. It is possible that you may not even need one. And then again...

You cannot have a home office equipment list without including a desk. Nevertheless, If you are just getting started and on a tight budget you can actually work on a small dedicated table pushed aside until your office needs outgrow the space, or the last resort the kitchen table could do. However, you are going to need a place to set the computer and eating dinner in your workspace could be quite challenging.

Again, you do not have to break the bank. You can start small and simple. You will know when it is time to upgrade or when you need more space.

Most office equipment should be easy to find. But if you do not want to waste time or money consider Majestic and More. We are relatively inexpensive, have quality products and having added a payment plan for the equipment purchase.
